The Power of Testimonies

God's blessings in our lives serve as powerful testimonies, drawing others to faith in Jesus Christ. However, these testimonies often face opposition from both worldly and spiritual forces.

We are going to be exploring the importance of testimonies and the challenges believers may encounter in maintaining them.

The Impact of Visible Blessings

When God blesses His people, it can have a profound effect on those around them. The scripture you provided illustrates this clearly:

"Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus." (John 12:11, KJV)

This verse shows how Lazarus' miraculous resurrection led many to believe in Jesus. Our own testimonies of God's goodness can similarly lead others to faith.

Opposition from the World

Just as the chief priests sought to eliminate Lazarus to prevent others from believing in Jesus, the world may attempt to discredit or destroy the testimonies of believers:

"But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;" (John 12:10, KJV)

This opposition can manifest in various ways, from persecution to attempts to undermine or steal the blessings God has given us. As Jesus warned:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:" (John 10:10a, KJV)

Spiritual Warfare

The devil also works to hinder believers from fully experiencing and sharing God's blessings. This spiritual opposition aims to weaken our testimonies:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12, KJV)

The enemy may use deception or discouragement to prevent us from apprehending all that God has for us:

"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." (2 Corinthians 2:11, KJV)

The Ultimate Goal: Preventing Faith in Christ

Both worldly and spiritual opposition share a common goal: to prevent others from coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Our testimonies have the power to draw people to God, which is why they are targeted:

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16, KJV)

Conclusion

As believers, we must recognize the power of our testimonies and the opposition they may face. We are called to stand firm in our faith, guarding the blessings God has given us and continuing to share the good news of His work in our lives. By doing so, we can overcome the attempts to silence our witness and continue to lead others to faith in Jesus Christ.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5:14, KJV)

Work and Marriage: A Parable of Life

In my country, work is like marriage. Many say there is no work, yet in reality, there is more work than those willing to take it. The problem is not the absence of opportunities but the unwillingness to recognize and embrace them. Just as some people miss out on marriage because they hold on to an imagined picture of a perfect spouse, many remain in poverty because they continually pass over real work opportunities, waiting for the kind of work that fits the image in their mind. Scripture is clear: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might  (Ecclesiastes 9:10). God does not call us to wait for ideal circumstances before we act; He calls us to engage diligently with what is at hand. Even in Eden, before the fall of man, the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it  (Genesis 2:15). Work is not a curse but a divine assignment. Yet many despise small beginnings. They forget the words of Jesus: He that is faithful in that ...

GROWTH-BLOCKING MINDSETS AND THE KINGDOM KEY TO BREAK FREE

A Kingdom Perspective for Two Dangerous Mindsets In today’s culture of ambition and hustle, two dangerous extremes have emerged: Those who say, “I’m not called into business. I’m just an employee.” Those who say, “I don’t want to serve anyone—I just want to own mine.” Both of these mindsets are not only flawed—they’re limiting. They reflect a misunderstanding of how God raises people into influence, impact, and provision. We’ll address both extremes and reveal a balanced, Kingdom-based truth: you are already in business, and you must serve before you can own. You're Already in Business—Even as an Employee When you work for a company, organization, or institution, you are already participating in the world of business. You may not own the structure, but you are working within it. You are contributing to its operations, its vision, and ultimately, its profit. Whether you handle customer service, clean the premises, manage accounts, or sit in a cor...
